Ultimate Frisbee

Have you ever tried to figure out what sport would whip you into shape quickest? There are tons of sports to choose from and they all have the potential to get you in shape, but there is one in particular that I think would top them all. That is Ultimate Frisbee.

Ultimate Frisbee is a lot like soccer, except the ball is a frisbee. The point of the game is to get the frisbee to the end zone. The person holding the frisbee isn’t allowed to move, so they must pass it as quick as they can. The frisbee is passed over and over til it reaches the endzone. If it falls and hits the ground, there is a turn-over and the other team receives it. It is one of the most basic games, but in a competitive game, it can be one of the most intense.

The game happens very fast. The frisbee is passed quickly from player to player and each player wants to run as quick as they can to make sure they are open to receive it. The defenders have to run quickly to block the other players or try to intercept it. Whether you are on offense or defense, the running just doesn’t stop. There are practically no breaks in the game. It gets very demanding and tiring, but it makes it fun.

To be good at Ultimate Frisbee you want to know how to throw a frisbee accurately and quickly. If you throw it incorrectly it will curve to the side or come back toward you. It takes practice to learn how to throw it correctly so that it catches the air and glides like it’s supposed to.

It’s also important to know how to catch the frisbee. It can be scary to put your hands in front of a speeding frisbee, but if you catch it correctly, it won’t hurt. It takes practice to make sure it doesn’t bounce off your hands or slip through your fingers.

Ultimate is one of the most team oriented sports, so you need to make sure you are a team player. It is impossible to be a one man team on ultimate.
